ONCE, TWICE AND THRICE……… PLAYERS WHO MIGHT FETCH THE HIGHEST BID IN IPL 2022

SURYAKUMAR YADAV:

We have seen the talent of this man. His exploits against England in the recently concluded T20 and ODI made him an absolute hit among the Indian fans. In his debut for India, the very first ball he faced he smashed it for a 6, that just shows how much talent this guy has. Surya started his IPL career with Mumbai, however after an unsuccessful season with them, in 2014 KKR acquired him. He had a great time with the Kolkata Knight Riders and was even promoted to vice-captain. In the 2018 auction, Suryakumar Yadav was bought by his former team for a massive Rs3.2 Cr, since then he has been an integral part of the team. There is a chance that Mumbai may not retain him for the next IPL, as they do have other players they could focus on, if such a situation occurs, I am certain there will be a battle between the teams to acquire his services. Still only 30 years old, Suryakumar has a lot left to show. In the 104 matches Surya has played, he has scored 2121 runs.

KRUNAL PANDYA:

Another Mumbai player who might not get retained for the next season is, Krunal Pandya. Krunal Pandya has shown the world what he can do with the bat and ball. In the ODI against England, Krunal scored a 26 ball fifty. That 50 showed us his maturity and understanding of the game, a quality that could be used by a lot of different teams in the IPL.  In the 74 matches he has played, Pandya has scored 1025 runs and picked up 49 wickets. His exploits with the bat and his knack for picking up wickets make him an extremely valuable player and lots of teams will be fighting to get his signature.

PRITHVI SHAW:

The 21-year old batsman started his IPL career with Delhi Capitals in 2018, and since then has been an important player for the team. He is considered to be one of the best young players of the sport, and is also dubbed “the future of Indian cricket”. Shwa holds the record of being the youngest player to open the batting in the IPL. He achieved this feat, aged 18 years and 165 days. Shaw has played matches in the IPL and has racked up an impressive 932 runs. He has hit 7 half-centuries so far in the IPL. Still only 21 years old, Shaw still has a lot left to prove and show. There is a high chance that Delhi Capitals may not retain him, as they do have other players they can focus on and grow. But I wouldn’t worry if I was Shaw, I am certain teams would love to have him in their squad.

T NATARAJAN:

The Tamil Nadu- born pacer made his IPL debut with Kings XI Punjab. He played a single season with them, before being purchased by SRH for the 2018 edition of the tournament. The pacer holds the record for bowling the most yorkers in the entire 2020 edition of the IPL, he is also the only player to have made his debut on all three formats of international cricket during the same tour. Natarajan has played 24 matches in the IPL and has picked up 20 wickets. With 16 of them coming in the 2020 edition of the tournament. Natarajan is one bowler, teams would love to have in their roster, his ability to bowl yorkers and take wickets is a trait many teams would love.

SHIKHAR DHAWAN:

We all know Shikhar Dhawan is a class player. His back-to-back century in the IPL, and also his 5383 runs scored, makes him stand out. Dhawan’s experience and his unique batting style is a quality that teams would love to have. Dhawan has played for multiple teams in the IPL. However, his most successful periods were with SRH and the Delhi Capitals, with whom he currently is. So far, Dhawan has already scored 2 half-centuries in the IPL, and in case he doesn’t get retained for the next season, just Surya, there will be a war to get his signature.

These are the 5 players in my opinion, who would fetch a hefty fee in the 2020 edition of the tournament.
