PLAYERS WHO HAVE PLAYED FOR ONE TEAM IN THE IPL

Players Who Have Played for One Team in the IPL: Playing for any team in the IPL is a big achievement because IPL is one of the biggest cricketing tournaments in the world.

When you play well for a team, there is a high chance that the team might retain you for the next season, and that should be a pretty momentous occasion for a player, it means that the team is backing you and has given you full support. Very few players in the IPL have stayed with the same team since the beginning.

Today we will be looking at the different players who have played for only one team in the IPL.

ONE CLUB MEN OF IPL… PLAYERS WHO HAVE PLAYED FOR ONE TEAM IN THE IPL

VIRAT KOHLI- ROYAL CHALLENGERS BANGALORE:

Virat Kohli and Royal Challengers Bangalore is a love story that is stronger than Romeo and Juliet.  I don’t think there is any person who can imagine Virat playing for any other team, he is meant to play for Bangalore, and watching him don any other team’s jersey will be extremely weird, at least for me.

Virat Kohli and RCB’s love affair started back in 2008 when VK was only 19 years old, since then a lot has changed, and VK currently captains the team. Virat Kohli is the player with the highest runs scored in the IPL. He has also scored 5 centuries in the tournament.

VK and RCB’s best season was the 2016 edition of the tournament, where RCB finished runners-up and Virat Kohli took home the orange cap. The only thing Virat has left to do is, guide RCB to the trophy, maybe this is the season where he can achieve that.

SACHIN TENDULKAR- MUMBAI INDIANS:

Sachin Tendulkar, the “God of cricket” also played for just one team in the IPL. It was Mumbai Indians, who were lucky enough to have such a legend in their team.

Sachin was Mumbai Indians captain for the first 3 seasons of the tournament. His most prolific time with the bat was during the 2010 edition of the tournament, where he scored 618 runs and had a top score of 89 not out, that season Sachin also guided MI to the finals, however, he lost the finals to Dohni’s CSK.

Sachin has played 78 matches in the IPL and has scored 2334 runs, hitting one century and 13 half-centuries. Sachin retired from the game in 2013, and Mumbai Indians, in order to thank him for his commitment and skill, retired the number 10 jersey. Even though Sachin has retired from the game, he is still very much involved with what happens in the team, a true sportsman.

HARDIK PANDYA- MUMBAI INDIANS:

Another Mumbai Indian player, this time we have the explosive, Hardik Pandya. Pandya broke into the IPL scene in 2015. Since then Pandya has only gone above and above.

We all have seen Pandya’s exploits with the bat and bowl, and it shouldn’t come off as a surprise as to why Mumbai has still retained him after all these years. Pandya has played 83 matches in the IPL, picking 42 wickets and scoring 1384 runs. His ability to clear the ground, with zero effort is insane and has left many wondering how he has done it.

Pandya is one of Mumbai’s star players, and his expertise with the bat and ball is very much appreciated in the team. Only 27 years old, Pandya still has a lot left to show.

SUNIL NARINE- KOLKATA KNIGHT RIDERS:

A player no one would have thought off, Sunil Narine has also only represented one team in the IPL. Narine’s first season win the IPL was in 2012 with Kolkata Knight Riders, and since then he has been an integral part of the KKR team.

Narine has played 120 matches in the IPL and has scored 892 runs with the bat, with a high score of 75. Narine has also picked up 127 wickets in the 120 matches he has played. Narine’s best season in the IPL was during the 2014 edition of the tournament, where he excelled with both the bat and ball.

He managed to take 21 wickets and score 407 runs. His strong performances guided KKR to their second trophy. Narine has opened KKR batting on many occasions and has also performed well in that role. His fearless batting style allowed him to express himself and the results have worked, I mean he has been playing with the same team for the past 9 years.  Narine is yet to play a game this season, but he will soon, and we will all get to see why KKR has retained him for all these years.

KIERON POLLARD- MUMBAI INDIANS:

The third Mumbai Indian player on this list, this time we have the West Indies legend, Kieron Pollard. Pollard made his IPL debut in 2010, and since then he has only played for MI. Pollard has played a total of 167 matches and has scored 3070 runs, including 15 half-centuries.

Pollard has also managed to take 60 wickets. Pollard is an integral part of Mumbai and his performances have helped Mumbai cross the victory line on many occasions.

These are the one club legends of the IPL. Maybe some of the players on this list might play for some other team, but the thought of seeing any of them in a different team’s jersey is quite painful, at least for me.
