#1. Pat Cummins

Sold For – ₹15.5 crore

Franchise – Kolkata Knight Riders

This Aussie pacer has become the most expensive player in IPL 2020 after the bidders took of this prestigious title from the English all-rounder Ben Stokes. Ben stokes was bought for a whopping Rs.14.5 crore in the IPL 2017 by the Rising Pune Supergiant – a team which doesn’t exist anymore.

However, Cummins is still behind Yuvraj Singh who had been bought for a jaw-dropping Rs.16 crore in 205 by Delhi Daredevils. Therefore Pat Cummins is the second most expensive player in the history of IPL auction.

With an aggressive strike rate of 140.0 in the IPL Pat Cummins is a hard hitter of the ball. He had taken 15 wickets for Delhi Daredevils before he found himself hurt with an injury in IPL 2017. It would be interesting to see what he does with the bat and bowl.

If you remember correctly, Glen Maxwell was one of the biggest buys in the IPL 2013 auctions. He had started off with a base price of $200,000 and was eventually bought by Mumbai Indians for a magnimous sum of $1 Million.

He is a powerful addition in Kings XI Punjab and his incredible ability to send the bowl out of the boundary line is simply breath-taking. On top of that his right-arm off-break bowling would be quite important in breaking important partnerships.

With an economy rate of just 5.85 he emerged as the highest West Indian Wicket-taker with 12 wickets in nine matches. Mumbai Indians grabbed this Australian right-arm fast bowler for a whopping sum of ₹8 crore. He started off with a base price of ₹1 crore and he is back in Mumbai Indians after six years. It would be pretty interesting to see Rohit Sharma handling two top class fast bowlers – Jasprit Bumrah and Nathan Coulter-Nile.
